One month of BuyMeACoffee — how much did I make?

Not a lot!

If you are a writer, a blogger, a YouTuber — if you put anything on the web, then you might want to have a look at BuyMeACoffee (affiliate link) as a way of getting some extra income.

The idea behind BuyMeACoffee (affiliate link) is that your readers/viewers support your work by, as the name suggests, buying you a coffee. In my case, it’s tea — this is as a result of bad food poisoning in India, I don’t drink coffee, but that is a story for another day.

OK, so I am at the end of my first month on BuyMeACoffee (affiliate link), so how is it going?

Well:

  • Posts — 9 (they have a blogging area, and you can read my posts at ‘Nick’s Coffee Posts’
  • Extras published — 4 (Extras are giveaways or even things you can sell for ‘coffee’. This month I published four extras, but I don’t expect that to happen every month. All my Extras are on how students can do calculations in the biosciences.)
  • I did a lot of work on the maths4biosciences website — added some new videos to the feedback. I added BuyMeACoffee (affiliate link) links. Set up direct links to the calculations — seems to have had an impact as page views are up — but still far too low.
  • New videos to my YouTube Channel — 2
